Fr. Joseph Kalapurayil

Fr Joseph Kalapurayil, who is in his second non-consecutive term, as the vicar of our church has served the Malankara Orthodox Church as a priest for 34 years.He is a double graduate in Arts and Theology, and also has a Bachelor of Education degree.

In his 34 years as a priest, he has served in multiple diocese in India and abroad. He first served as a priest in Kandanad diocese, before becoming a part of the then Bombay diocese and serving in different churches there. He has been serving the American diocese since 1991, and was the vicar of SGOCI earlier from 2000 till 2003. During this time, he has also served different schools in Bombay and Gujarat as a teacher and principal. He also served as a substitute teacher in the Hayward Unified school district in California.

Father Joseph is married to Alice Joseph and has two daughters, Betty and Beryl, both of whom are married.
