Welcome to the Sunday School website!

As our Sunday School continues to move forward with the 2007-2008 school year, we have seen enrollment rise thanks to the support of the vicar, principals, teachers, managing committee, church, students, parents, and most importantly our almighty Father in heaven.

Major updates this year include:

Updating the church to support the necessary classrooms required for teaching
Conducting "Teachers Day" training sessions and discussions
Incorporating succesfull best practices used in Indian Orthodox Churches throughout North America (ex. morning classes, general session agendas, sunday school challenges, and more)
Incorporating area- wide carpools for efficent and timely arrival of students
Engagement of students through teaching approaches utilizing the "5 Senses"
Each child has been provided with a 2-Disc CD set of the Qurbana to learn and practice from (Special thanks to St. Stephens Orthodox Church in Houston for providing access to sharing and distributing their Qurbana Service CD)

News and Information from the Classroom

The Sunday School students will be singing an acappella spiritual song for the 2007 Parish Day celebration on Sunday, November 4 after church.

Please make sure your children attend the practices so they may be able to participate in the performance.

The Sunday School students did an excellent job performing for the 2007 Talent Show. The performance was a song called "The River" by Garth Brooks.

The Sunday School Students (Grades 6th through 12th) will be attending a field trip to celebrate mass with the Armenian Orthodox Church in San Francisco. We will also be meeting with the youth of the Armenian Orthodox church and having a discussion with the priest. The date for the field trip is Sunday, November 11, 2007.

All students will meet as usual for General Session class at church at 8:30am.

We will leave from church soon after.

Please make sure all students are on time so we are not late to celebrate mass with our sister church.

The Sunday School students will be conducting a field trip to celebrate mass at the Holy Cross Orthodox Monestary.

The students will be split into groups conducting the field trip on separate days.

Tentative Date for the first trip is October 28, 2007 with the older students.

Please contact Jerry if you will be able to volunteer transportation from church.

All Sunday School students will be performing together for the 2007 Church Talent Night Show.

Make sure your students are on time for Sunday School (General Session) to receive the practice necessary to participate.
